Zoom Calls Hit Different When Your Background Is the Ocean
A funny thing has happened over the last few years.
People stopped asking, “Can I work remotely?”
Now the question is, “Where should I work remotely from?”
And Cabo keeps showing up on that list.
I have clients who take investor calls in the morning, walk the beach at lunch, and review contracts in the afternoon with the Sea of Cortez sitting right outside their window.
Zoom calls really do hit different when the background is the ocean.
But the real story is not the view. The real story is how well Cabo actually works for remote professionals.
The infrastructure is stronger than most people expect. High-speed fiber internet is now common in many of the residential communities. Direct flights connect Cabo to major cities across the U.S. and Canada. And because of the time zones, you can easily stay aligned with West Coast business hours.
That combination has quietly turned Cabo into a serious base for remote entrepreneurs, investors, and executives.
And then there is the lifestyle shift.
Instead of spending two hours a day commuting, people start their mornings with a walk on the beach. Instead of squeezing life into weekends, the entire week feels balanced.
It is a different rhythm.
The interesting part is that many of the people who arrive planning to stay for a few months eventually start looking at real estate. They realize that if they are going to spend significant time here, it often makes more sense to own something.
Some choose turnkey condos that can double as short-term rentals when they are away. Others look for homes in communities like Palmilla, Puerto Los Cabos, or Cabo del Sol where they can combine work, lifestyle, and long-term investment in one place.
Cabo was once mostly known as a vacation destination.
Today, it is quietly becoming something else.
A place where people can live, work, and build a life that feels a little more intentional.
And once you take a few Zoom calls with the ocean in front of you, it becomes very hard to go back.
If you are exploring the idea of working remotely from Cabo, feel free to reach out. I am always happy to share what I am seeing in the market and which neighborhoods are working best for full-time and part-time living.
