Where to Stay, Have Fun, Eat, Golf, Party, and Shop

Despite its coveted status as one of Cabo’s most secluded and exclusive luxury developments, Punta Ballena is also close enough to bustling Cabo San Lucas to provide easy access to its lively nightlife and entertainment scene.

Where to Live

Punta Ballena is a community of single-family and multi-family luxury homes, three-bedroom and four-bedroom villas and condominiums, and a five-star hotel and the resort’s centerpiece and anchor, Esperanza, an Auberge Resort & Spa. The numerous amenities of Esperanza — such as the members-only beach club and several restaurants, a gym, and pools — are available to residents.

Where to Have Fun

Punta Ballena offers some of the most dramatic ocean views of rugged coastline in Baja, including the famous landmark of Land’s End. The Punta Ballena Beach Club also has beautiful views of the Sea of Cortez and coastline. Esperanza offers many family-friendly activities: cooking classes, culinary tours, and whale-watching from its many patios.

As in most of Cabo, the diversions that await you in Punta Ballena include everything from swimming and scenic walks to sunbathing, picnicking, diving, snorkeling, surfing, sailing, fishing, hiking, and horseback riding.

Where to Eat

The Esperanza Resort has four eateries to choose from. Helmed by Executive Chef Alexis Palacios, each of them uses organic and sustainable ingredients provided by the farmers, fishermen, and producers of the area.

The tiered clifftop Cocina del Mar features an amazing view and local seafood, farm-to-table vegetables, and coastal cuisine like Bahia lobster. La Palapa‘s menu boasts seviches, tacos, and other Mexican dishes in an outdoor setting. Las Estrellas is a family-friendly restaurant that serves wood-fired pizza, homemade bruschetta, and traditional dishes with a Mexican seafood twist. La Terraza Americana is a casual outdoor spot that serves light lunch fare.
